Transportation Fee Program

Our Transportation Fee Program offers families the flexibility to choose between an annual or semester bus pass, with options for round-trip or one-way service.

For reference, the annual round-trip bus pass equates to just $2.22 per day.

Regular education bus transportation is available to:

1. Beechwood School (K-8)
2. Hermosa School (K-6)
3. Ladera Vista Jr. High (7-8)
4. Parks Jr. High (7-8)
5. Rolling Hills (K-6)

INSTRUCTIONS AND FEE SCHEDULE

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Since October 1994, the Fullerton School District has offered a parent-pay program for students who wish to use home-to-school bus transportation.  The transportation fee program offers families the option of an annual bus pass or semester bus pass in your choice of round-trip or one-way. Annual round-trip transportation equates to $2.22 per day for one of the safest means of transportation in the country!

Following are the current parent-pay rates for this school year:

Payment plans are available (service charges apply).  

Free transportation is also available for families that live beyond the walking guidelines AND qualify under income guidelines.

All students are required to be identified, including their designated school bus stop. Possession of a current bus pass will entitle a student to ride to and/or from school to their bus stop.  The bus pass must be presented when students board the school bus on the first day of school and every day thereafter. Round-trip bus transportation from a designated bus stop to the Special Education Program will be provided to Special Education students if transportation is indicated in the students Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Bus Pass Applications Are Now Online!

All bus pass applications must be completed online. For the fastest processing, please fill out the application carefully and upload a current, wallet-size photo of each student. Make sure each photo is clearly labeled with the student’s full name.

If you are applying for free transportation, you must also complete a separate Alternate Income Form in addition to the bus pass application. This form is required to determine eligibility for free bus passes.

Please do not arrive without an appointment.

Our Bus Pass Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Children living within the Board-established walking distances (1.25 miles for grades K-6;  2.0 miles for grades 7-8) may ride the school bus if:

1. The child can get to an established bus stop safely
2. There is room on the school bus; however, your student’s bus privileges may be revoked to make room for a rider that lives outside the walking distance
3. The full-fare, round-trip rate for transportation is paid

Please note that school bus riders who live within the Board-established walking distances are not eligible for free or reduced transportation.

REFUNDS

Refunds will be made only when a student leaves the District or moves out of the busing area.  Please return the bus pass to the Bus Pass Office along with a written request stating the reason for the refund signed by the parent/guardian.  The refund amount will be based on the number of unused days left in the pass cycle. No other refunds will be made.

REPLACEMENTS

Fullerton School District is not responsible for lost or stolen bus passes.  If a replacement pass is needed, a $10 handling fee will be charged. You may purchase a Bus Pass online at MySchoolBucks.com
