FSD Board of Trustees Approves New Board PoliciesOn October 5, 2017, Governor Jerry Brown signed AB 699 in to law, a bill designed to enhance protections for immigrant students served be school districts, county office of education, and charter schools. The bill went into effect January 1, 2018 and contains a number of implications for public schools. In particular, the bill obligated the California Attorney General to publish model policies by April 1, 2018, and for schools to adopt those model policies. At the August 14, 2018 Board Meeting the Board of Trustees adopted the model policies required under AB 699.Please click HERE for more information on AB 699.
