Bio

  • Dr. Robert “Bob” Pletka has been in education for over 25 years and is the Superintendent of the Fullerton School District.  He came to FSD after serving as the Superintendent of El Centro Elementary School District.  Prior to becoming the Superintendent of El Centro, Dr. Pletka served as Associate Superintendent of the Vista Unified School District.  He also served as the Director of Instruction and Technology for the Covina-Valley Unified School District. 

    Dr. Pletka’s career in education began as an elementary and middle school teacher in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District.  In his career, Dr. Pletka has authored two books, Educating the Net Generation: How to Engage Students in the 21st Century and My So-Called Digital Life.  Throughout his career, Dr. Pletka has led technology development in all of his assignments. 

    Dr. Pletka received his Doctorate in Education degree in the joint program at the University of California, Irvine and California Polytechnic University.  He earned his Master's Degree in Educational Technology from National University and his Bachelor's Degree in Communications at California State University, San Bernardino.

    Dr. Pletka has a passion for education, technology, and personalized learning.  He is married with six children, loves fishing, and is a diehard Chargers football fan.
