From colorful balloons and school mascots to carefully chosen first-day outfits and brand-new backpacks, Fullerton School District campuses came alive on Monday, August 10, as over 10,000 students returned for the start of the 2026-27 school year.

Superintendent Gretchen Janson, Ed.D., welcomes students, families and staff back for a new year of learning, growth and opportunity. As the new school year begins, Dr. Janson shares her appreciation for the dedication and preparation taking place throughout Fullerton school District and her excitement for the year ahead.

Nearly 900 Fullerton School District students and family members gathered at the District's fourth annual Back-to-School Health Fair to prepare for the start of the 2026-27 school year, receiving free health services, school supplies, nutritious meals and community resources to help ensure every student is prepared for a strong start.
