After officially beginning her tenure on July 1, Fullerton School District Superintendent Gretchen Janson, Ed.D., hit the ground running, spending her first weeks visiting all 20 schools, connecting with District Office staff and meeting employees working behind the scenes to prepare campuses for the upcoming school year.

Learning continued well beyond the last day of school as thousands of Fullerton School District students participated in a variety of summer programs designed to support academic growth, creativity, enrichment and personal development throughout June.

Parks Junior High School and Fisler School were named Schools of Excellence, the highest honor a middle school can achieve at the prestigious tournament, which drew approximately 7,000 students from across the nation and around the world.

Since opening in 2019, the food pantry has become a vital community resource, stocked weekly through an exclusive partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County and offering fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, bread, cereal and other pantry staples. The pantry is open by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. through July 30.

Offered through both state-funded and tuition-based options, FSD's preschool program helps children develop the social, emotional, cognitive and academic skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond. Registration is open year-round for children ages 3 to 5, with part-day, full-day and full-year options available. Children must turn 3 years old on or before December 1.

Across the District, sixth and eighth-grade promotion ceremonies honored elementary and junior high students for their hard work, growth and achievements. Students proudly walked across stages and outdoor platforms to receive certificates, be recognized for academic accomplishments and earn special awards.
