What is PBIS & How Do We Use It On Our Campus?
At Robert C. Fisler School (Fisler), we are a PBIS Platinum School. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence- based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teachers' health and well-being. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
PBIS at Fisler sets the framework for teaching our students behavior expectations in different areas on our campus such as: at the lunch tables, in assemblies, in the classroom, on the playground, arrival & dismissal areas, in the library and various other areas on our campus. The behavior expectations are based on our core values: Kind, Safe, Respectful, and Responsible (KSRR). Please review our school's PBIS Behavior Matrix with your child so they understand what is expected from them at Fisler School.
PBIS Rewards System
At Fisler, we reward our students when they follow our PBIS Behavior Matrix (linked above) and show KSRR. Students are awarded KSRR tickets for showing Kind, Safe, Respectful, and Responsible (KSRR) behavior. Each class also has a KSRR Chart and sections are filled out when students are awarded KSRR tickets or doing KSRR acts in class. Students earn PBIS classroom rewards every time they fill out their KSRR chart. Click on this video: What It Means to be KSRR to understand our core values here at Fisler.
