  • 30 Book Challenge

    Dear Room 15 Students,

Are you ready for a challenge? At Acacia, we take risks, persevere, and take on challenges so that we can grow in many ways. An important part of your academic career here is becoming a lifelong learner. To meet this goal, I challenge you to read 30 different 4th-grade level (or higher) books this year! To complete this challenge, you must read:

    • 15 approved nonfiction books
    • 15 approved fiction books

Please keep track of your reading by logging F, for fiction or NF,  for nonfiction, the title of your book, the author, and the start /end dates for each book on your 30 Book Challenge track sheet. You will be required to read 5 nonfiction and 5 fiction each trimester.

The due dates for each trimester will be:

    • Friday, November 5
    • Friday, February 25
    • Friday, May 20

The celebration dates for teach trimester will be:

    • Wednesday, November 17
    • Wednesday, March 2
    • Wednesday, May 25

Final Celebration for students that have read 30 challenge books:

    • May 27

When you finish a book, you will complete a book report summary. Then you will schedule a book conference with Mrs. Cockerill. After you have successfully conferenced with Mrs. Cockerill, you will be able to color in the small book on your sheet and pick up a new book!
