Principal's Message
Dear Acacia Family,
My name is Rachel McCormick, and I am honored to be part of the Acacia team for the 2022-2023 school year. I believe in the importance of a home-school partnership and open communication, and I know that together we will continue to provide a high quality education for our students. Acacia has a rich tradition of academic excellence and over the past few years has been recognized as a California Distinguished School as well as a National Blue Ribbon School. Our teachers continue to set high expectations for our students, while ensuring that all students have the support they need to be successful.
This will be my second year as principal of Acacia. I have been in education for over 20 years, and have been part of the Fullerton School District for the past sixteen years where I have had the opportunity to work at both elementary and junior high schools. My husband and I have lived in Fullerton for eighteen years, and both my children attended Acacia for Kindergarten through sixth grade. My daughter graduated from Troy High School, where she played softball and was part of the choral program. My son is a senior this year, playing football and baseball. As a family we love to go camping and hiking and any opportunity we have to enjoy the outdoors.
Acacia is an amazing place, and I am confident that we can continue to empower our students to reach their full potential in a constantly evolving world. My goal is for each student to know how much they are cared for as an individual and I look forward to meeting each of you as we prepare for the new school year. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I am thrilled to be a part of the Acacia family as we work together to make our school the best it can be for our students.
Warmly,
Rachel McCormick
Welcome to our new Assistant Principal, Susan Ungaro!
Hello, Panda Families and Friends! My name is Susan Ungaro and I'm so excited to join the Acacia Team as Assistant Principal. This is my 18th year with Fullerton School District. I was a classroom teacher for 11 years, a Teacher on Special Assignment for Innovation and Instructional Support for 6 years, was recently promoted to Program Specialist, and now, Assistant Principal. My goal as an educator is to create memorable learning opportunities for everyone. My roles in the district allowed me to personalize learning for students, enhance student voice and creativity, and help students explore and define their passions. I'm so excited to make lots of Panda memories with everyone.
