    Learning Goal:  Students will choose one of three Animalia Original Sentences they created.  Students will use that sentence and create a collage of what the sentence is about.  Students will include at least three noun pictures from their Animalia Original Sentence. Students will write the sentence LARGELY and BOLDLY on the picture.  

    Students will identify all parts of speech near the sentence.  Students can do this various ways:

    • Students can write Original Animalia Sentence again in the corner and identify parts of speech
    • Students can abbreviate the parts of speech and write them small above, below, or in parenthesis next to the word in the Original Animalia Sentence 
    • Students can write on a page below the Animalia Project and identify the parts of speech from the Original Animalia Sentence on the second page

    District Writing Benchmark #1  

    Write your writing piece on the Google Doc titled CLEMENTE DISTRICT WRITING BENCHMARK #1 in Google Classroom.   

    Write your FIRST and LAST NAME in the top right hand corner.
    Write your ELA 8 teacher underneath your first and last name:  Mr. Clemente
    Students will write an impromptu (spontaneous; unrehearsed)  writing piece.   Students will follow the writing directions: TASK, DIRECTIONS for BEGINNING, & ASSIGNMENT.  Read those three instructions carefully, outline your writing piece, (spend no longer than 20 minutes outlining the writing piece), and begin writing using all the skills practiced for this writing piece.   The District Benchmark counts as a grade.   


    Again, read the TASK, DIRECTIONS for BEGINNING, & ASSIGNMENT carefully so you know the "type" of writing for this writing piece.
