Dear Parents,

Welcome to your child's history class.  If your child is in 8th grade, during the course of the year, he/she will be learning about U.S. history starting from the development of the colonies, their fight for freedom from Britain, the building of a new empire, the tribulations of the Civil War, and ending with industrialization.

If your child is in 7th grade, during the course of the year, he/she will be learning about the rising and falling of empires throughout the world. He/she will also delve into the many cultures and religions of several empires.
