School Site Council (SSC) is an organization composed of both school staff and parents that provides input and direction for Sunset Lane. SSC has the ongoing responsibility to review with the principal, teachers, and other school personnel, the implementation of the Single Plan for Student Achievement and to assess periodically the effectiveness of the program. SSC also annually reviews and revises the Single Plan for Student Achievement to see that it is consistent with the Education Code, and if necessary, makes modifications in the plan to reflect changing needs and priorities. Additionally, SSC monitors and approves the school budget and annually reviews the School Safety Plan.
SSC meetings for the 2024-25 school year have been scheduled on the following Tuesdays:
School Site Council Elections
Parents, teachers, and staff interested in serving on School Site Council for a two-year term, placed their names in nomination starting on August 20, 2024. Once all nominations were collected, separate elections were held with parents voting for parents, teachers voting for teachers, and other staff voting for other staff. Those with the highest number of votes were elected to fill the open number of positions. Once the School Site Council was formed, SSC officer elections were held on September 17, 2024 (and again on December 10, 2024 due to a member vacancy). During our regularly scheduled meeting, those elected to School Site Council nominated members of the SSC to serve as SSC officers. SSC then voted and elected the following officers:
