Happy October! This month in the library, we really got into the full swing of things.

Students enjoyed lessons on using the library catalog and how to place holds on books using Alexandria, our library system. We also explored Alexandria's genre feature, so students can use their iPads to browse books by genre.

As the month comes to a close, we have started reading books nominated for the California Young Reader Medal. Students will get to vote for their favorite book and help decide the winner for the whole state of California!

These books can be found in the library and also on the Sora app. We will be reading all of the picture book nominees together during library time. TK-4th grade will read the Primary category and 5th & 6th grade will read the Picture Books for Older Readers category.

Looking ahead, we will continue reading the CYRM nominees through November and December, and vote before Winter Break. We'll also keep working on reinforcing those basic library skills and how to find books based on the author and call number.
