Celebrating Ms. Amy Andi – Sunset Lane’s 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year!

Sunset Lane is proud to honor Ms. Amy Andi as the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year! A true embodiment of excellence in education, Ms. Andi’s dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to her students, colleagues, and the school community make her an invaluable part of Sunset Lane. Her ability to connect with students and foster a love for learning is unmatched, and her contributions to education have earned her recognition beyond our school setting, as she was recently named a Top 10 Teacher by Parenting OC magazine.

As a 1st and 2nd grade combo teacher this year, Ms. Andi seamlessly balanced the demands of two grade levels, ensuring that each student received the individualized support they needed to grow and thrive. Her classroom is a place of inspiration, filled with engaging, hands-on activities that make learning exciting and meaningful. She continuously assesses student progress, reteaching and extending lessons as needed to ensure every student reaches their fullest potential.

Beyond her impact in the classroom, Ms. Andi is a leader and mentor within the Sunset Lane community. She works closely with colleagues, modeling best practices and providing guidance in Reader’s Workshop and balanced literacy through her involvement with the Cotsen Foundation for the Art of Teaching. Her willingness to share her expertise and support her fellow educators strengthens the entire school and enhances student learning at every level. Additionally, Ms. Andi is a driving force behind many school-wide initiatives, writing grants to bring special programs to students, volunteering for events, and working closely with both PTA and Foundation to build a strong school-community connection. Her positivity, warmth, and boundless energy make Sunset Lane a better place for students, staff, and families alike.

Ms. Andi’s impact on Sunset Lane is immeasurable. She leads with heart, inspires with passion, and uplifts everyone around her. Her recognition as Teacher of the Year and as a Top 10 Teacher by Parenting OC magazine is a testament to the extraordinary educator that she is.
