Hello Amazing Orangethorpe Families

Welcome back!!

I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving break with family and friends and were able to relax and enjoy the time making memories.

As we return, we only have 3 weeks until winter break and these weeks will go fast.  We have a few events so please make sure you are checking the Wednesday folder.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for International Day.  This is always one of my favorite events because we have the opportunity to honor all the cultures and heritages that we have on campus and families and students are proud to share their artifacts and food.  Everything was delicious!

Information/Reminders:

See's Candy Fundraiser: Reminder that See's Candy Fundraiser money is due tomorrow Monday Dec 2.  Please send any remaining orders with your child so they can turn it into their teacher.

Thursday Dec 5 - November Recognition Awards: If your child is receiving an award you should have received a letter with the time of the assembly. We look forward to seeing you there.

Friday Dec 6 DELAC Meeting:  Please join us at 9:00am at Pacific Drive for the DELAC meeting.  Please see the attached flyer.

Friday Dec 6 - STAGE Production - Families who have children in STAGE, please join us at 6:00pm for the production of The Jungle Book.  We do have two shows earlier in the day at 9:00 and 10:00 if you are unable to attend the night show.

Saturday Dec 7 - Saturday School -  If your child has an absence, please join us for Saturday school for 8:00 -noon.  Let us take care of your children while you have some time to yourself or can shop without your children present!!

Upcoming events:

Dec 9 - 13 - Holiday Shop - students will be shopping with their class during school time. A flyer was sent home before Thanksgiving break.

Tues Dec 10 - Community Schools District meeting - 3:30pm MPR please join us

Sat Dec 14 - Saturday School - 8:00 - noon

Mon Dec 16 - Winter sing-a-long - more details to come.

Wed Dec 18 - Minimum day - 12:10pm dismissal

Thurs Dec 19 - minimum day - 12:10pm dismissal

Dec 20 - Jan 6 - Winter Break

Tues Jan 7 - Students return.

 

This year seems to be going extremely fast but our students are doing amazing things and learning so much.  I am thankful that we have the community that we have and that we all work together to do what is best for children.  Orangethorpe is the best kept secret with amazing staff, teachers, students and families.  I am truly blessed to be at Orangethorpe.  Thank you.
