Digital Citizenship
-
At Golden Hill School, students in 4th-6th grade participate in the 1:1 iPad program. With an increase of technology in the hands of students, comes an increase in responsibility. Teaching students to be critical consumers and thoughtful contributors to the digital world is a top priority. All students need to use technology safely, effectively, ethically, and respectfully. We want our students to be well prepared to be successful in the 21st century global environment.
In 2015-16, we earned our first Digital Citizenship Certification through Common Sense Media, and plan on repeating this certification each year. We were, once again, successful in certifying our school and teaching every student how to be a good digital citizen in 2016-17. Fundamental to such success is the ability to use technology responsibly to gather, evaluate, construct, and share knowledge. As educators, it is our duty to guide our students as 21st Century learners and responsible digital citizens.
