• Congratulations to Sunset Lane’s 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year:
    Mrs. Karen Cova!

    This honor is a true testament to Mrs. Cova’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to our students. Mrs. Cova has been teaching for twenty-nine years, eleven of which have been right here at Sunset Lane. Her passion for teaching has not gone unnoticed and her impact on her students is immeasurable. She goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported. Additionally, she works hard to ensure that there are extracurricular opportunities for our students. In recent years, Mrs. Cova has helped run programs such as eSports, Robotics, and Math Olympiad, all of which are enhancing and enriching the educational experience of our students.

     

    Mrs. Cova is also a team player and a leader. She serves on our leadership team as well as our safety committee, and her insight and perspectives are helping shape Sunset Lane into the best version of ourselves that we can be. Furthermore, Mrs. Cova mentors both aspiring teachers and new teachers as well. Her time and effort not only impact her own students, but her influence and mentorship spread through her work with other teachers to then impact the lives of many students at our site and elsewhere. Mrs. Cova’s innovative teaching methods, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning have inspired and motivated her students to achieve their full potential. Her kindness, patience, and empathy have made a positive impact on the lives of those lucky enough to know her.
     
    Thank you, Mrs. Cova, for your tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to your students' success. You are a true asset to our school community and we are lucky to have you as an educator and role model. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. You truly are an outstanding teacher.
