Dr. Guillermo Muñoz

Dear Valencia Park Community,

Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year! It fills me with immense joy to partner with the VP community for the third consecutive year. I am deeply honored to be a part of the fabric of the Valencia Park community. I would like to extend a warm welcome to both our returning and new students, faculty, and parents within our extraordinary school community. Together, we have achieved significant milestones, and I take great pride in our collective accomplishments. Our students' remarkable progress across all grade levels stands as a testament to our collective contributions. Your commitment is truly valued.  Our journey has been marked by remarkable growth, particularly evident in our Reclassification rates. With unwavering collaboration, I am confident that our trajectory of success will persist. The dedication of our teachers and instructional aides in providing specialized English Language Development (ELD) focus has been instrumental in ensuring our students excel on the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC). As we move forward, I kindly request your continued support from home to maintain this positive momentum. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. Together, we will continue to nurture a thriving academic environment at Valencia Park. Here's to another year of shared achievement and growth!

There are a few things we want to make sure we do prior to starting the school year and that is to encourage you to get the little ones to bed earlier so they are well rested and prepared on Day 1. We will officially begin the new school year on August 14, 2023, with classes beginning promptly at 8:15 AM. I kindly request all students to arrive a little early to ensure a smooth start to the day. Like last year, YES. You are always welcome to walk your children onto campus and to their class gathering spot.

I want to go over our GOALS for this year and recap where we have been.

  • In the 2021/22 school year, we prioritized the crucial skill of reading, and I encourage everyone to continue fostering a love for reading in our students.
  • In the 2022/23 academic year, we emphasized the importance of writing. Please continue encouraging writing at home.
  • For the 2023/24 school year, our primary focus will be on building vocabulary. To ensure our student's success, I implore you to maintain close communication with your child's teacher and actively participate in activities that promote vocabulary growth. We will continue to implement all of these goals because they are needed for future academic success beyond high school.

We firmly believe that extracurricular activities and family engagement play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall educational experience. Throughout the year, we kindly ask you to support our endeavors by joining the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and attending all family engagement events. Your participation will enable us to create a nurturing and enriching learning environment for our students. Our success is rooted in our strong sense of community and collaboration. Please stay closely connected and involved in your child's education. Together, we can make this year even more extraordinary than the last.

Please feel free to reach out to me at my email: guillermo_munoz@myfsd.org or by calling our school office at: (714) 447-7755. I am open to any questions, thoughts, or ideas you would like to share. Our Team is looking forward to the new school year with excitement and dedication, and we can't wait to see our students flourish, achieve, and grow.

Warmest regards,

Dr. Guillermo Muñoz
