Wellness Policy Triennial Assessment

Wellness Policy Triennial Assessment

What is the WellSAT and Triennial Assessment?

Every few years, our school district reviews how we’re doing with health and wellness at school. This includes:

  • The kinds of food and drinks served in the cafeteria

  • Opportunities for physical activity, like PE and recess

  • Nutrition education and health lessons in class

  • Wellness programs that support both students and staff

To help with this, we use a tool called the WellSAT. It’s basically a detailed checklist that helps us measure how strong our wellness policies are and how well we’re putting them into action.

Then, we complete what’s called a Triennial Assessment—which just requires us to do a review every three years. The results help us see what’s working well and where we can improve.

This process is important because it helps make sure our schools are creating a healthy environment where students can learn, grow, and feel their best—physically and mentally!
