Urgent Message to Pacific Drive Families / Mensaje urgente a las familias de Pacific Drive

Dear Pacific Drive Community,

Yesterday, we had an incident in the office whereby a disgruntled Pacific Drive parent used threatening and abusive language towards staff that disrupted the education environment. Additionally, today we received screenshots of social media posts that were posted from that same parent who made inflammatory statements about individual staff members at Pacific Drive and, in one case, one particular student. (Please be advised that the family of the named student in the social media post has already been successfully contacted so please know that unless we contacted you this evening, then this post was not about your child).

As a result of the aforementioned disruptive office interaction in combination with antagonistic social media posts about a named student and named teachers on social media, I  have determined that  further safety protocols are needed for tomorrow. These safety protocols will be in place until this situation is completely resolved.

I contacted Chief Dunn of the Fullerton Police Department directly, who assured us that the police will be present tomorrow morning at 7:30 am and offered future police presence. Cabinet members and I will be at Pacific Drive early tomorrow morning at the front of the school, during the day, and throughout the week to answer any questions. In addition, we have arranged for additional district staff members to be present during the school day for extra support, including the Director of Maintenance and Operations. We contacted a security company, and they will have someone out as soon as possible, no later than Monday. Our district crisis response team will be on campus throughout the week to support Pacific Drive students and staff. We will have police presence throughout the day tomorrow, Friday, and beyond if necessary.

District staff will be available to answer any questions in person at Pacific Drive tomorrow morning and afternoon. Please do not hesitate to contact us tomorrow morning at the school with any further concerns or questions. We are here to support you.

Estimada comunidad de la escuela Pacific Drive, 

En el día de ayer, ocurrió un incidente donde un padre de la escuela Pacific Drive, contrariado, usó un lenguaje amenazante y abusivo que alteró el entorno educativo. Adicionalmente a esto, en el día de hoy, recibimos, tomas capturadas de pantallas de publicaciones en las redes sociales, acerca del mismo padre que hizo estos comentarios inflamatorios acerca de miembros del personal de la escuela Pacific Drive, de manera individual, y en un caso identificando a un estudiante en particular. (Por favor esté en conocimiento que se ha notificado a la familia del mencionado estudiante, acerca de lo ocurrido y por favor sepa que si usted ho ha sido contactado durante esta noche, esta publicación No se trata de su estudiante) 

Como resultado de esta inquietante interacción mencionada anteriormente en la oficina y en combinación con publicaciones antagonistas en las redes sociales acerca de un estudiante y maestros mencionados por su nombre, he determinado la necesidad de incrementar los protocolos de seguridad en el día de mañana. Estos protocolos de seguridad se mantendrán hasta que la situación se haya resuelto completamente. 

Hemos contactado al Jefe del Departamento de Policía de Fullerton, Chief Dunn, quién nos aseguró que habrá presencia policial mañana a las 7:30 am. y ofreció presencia policial en el futuro. Los miembros del gabinete y yó estaremos en la escuela Pacific Drive mañana temprano en el frente de la escuela, durante el día y durante la semana. Adicionalmente, habra personal del Distrito también presente como apoyo extraordinario, incluyendo al Director de Mantenimiento y Operaciones. Hemos contactado a una compañía que proporcionará un agente de seguridad tan pronto como sea posible, a más tardar el día lunes. Nuestro equipo de respuesta a crisis y emergencias, estará presente en la escuela durante la semana para apoyar a los estudiantes y personal de la escuela Pacific Drive. Habrá presencia policial durante el día de mañana, el viernes, y más alla de estos dias, si fuere necesario.

El personal del Distrito, se encontrará disponible en persona, en la escuela Pacific Drive, mañana en la mañana y en la tarde, para responder a cualquier pregunta.
