An atelier (studio) is “a space rich in materials, tools, and people with professional competencies… a place for children’s research." -- Loris Malaguzzi
The atelier or studio is a dedicated interactive learning space for parents and children ages 2-5. It is abundant with materials and media that serve as tools for the mind and imagination. You will find clay to mold, shape, and pound; wire to bend, connect, and twist; blocks to design, build, and balance; projectors and tables for light, shadow, and transparency; paint in different mediums, colors, hues, and shades; and natural materials such as acorns, seeds, bark, shells, and other wonders. Parents are guided in identifying their child’s learning style and interests, with strategies to support engagement at home. This is a place where ideas, theories, and possibilities are explored.
