Fullerton School District Enrollment Guidelines
New employees working 50% or more (4 hours for Classified employees) have a 31-day window period from date of hire to enroll in insurance benefits. All benefit eligible employees qualify for District paid life insurance.
Employees working 90% / 7.2 hours a day or more are required to enroll in a minimum of single medical coverage.
Employees who are regularly assigned to work 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE – Certificated) in a permanent position, are eligible for pro-rata District paid Health and Welfare Benefits. Employee contributions vary according to benefit plans and hours worked per week; deduction information is available under the Employee Benefits Information link above.
2018-2019 Open Enrollment will begin on Monday July 30, 2018 and end Friday August 10, 2018.
All benefit eligible employees have the opportunity once a year to participate in open enrollment. Changes made during the open enrollment period will become effective October 1st that fall through September 30th of the following year.
If you have a ‘HIPAA qualifying event’ to add/term a dependent, you must complete a change form within 31 days of the event; and provide the necessary documentation.
Employees participating in the Flexible Spending Account/Dependent Care/Section 125 pre-tax plan for un-reimbursed medical expenses and/or child care expenses facilitated by Discovery Benefits are required to enroll annually. Re-enrollment is not automatic every year.
