Transitional Kindergarten

Welcome to the Fullerton School District's Transitional Kindergarten (TK) page. Transitional Kindergarten is the first of a two-year, age and developmentally appropriate kindergarten program enhanced with technology integration. Students who complete the TK program are eligible to continue to Kindergarten the following school year. Our goal is to foster social and emotional development, collaborative play, and self-directed learning through a variety of experiences. Parents are encouraged to become partners in their child’s education. Transitional Kindergarten is part of the public school system and is free to participating students.

The age requirement for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for the 2021-2022 school year include children who turn 5 years of age between September 2 - December 2, 2021.

What does Transitional Kindergarten look like during distance learning?
The Transitional Kindergarten team will be partnering with families to provide hands-on learning experiences, in addition to paper and digital learning experiences. In the past few years, our teachers have used Seesaw in the classroom to connect with parents and to engage the student in the learning. Seesaw also allows parents to take a peek in the classrooms during the day to see what their child is learning and excited about! With distance learning, we can do even more to increase that interaction so parents can see ways the children are learning and when it is appropriate, followup to ensure their child is understanding the lessons while attending class through distance learning.
