Superintendent’s Community Update | September 13, 2026

Dear Fullerton School District Families:

Last week, I traded the District Office for a kindergarten classroom, spending the day as a substitute teacher at Commonwealth Elementary School. After 22 years away from the classroom, it was wonderful to teach again and experience firsthand the energy of our students and the incredible work our teachers, instructional aides and staff do each day.

Combined with a recent afternoon riding one of our school buses during student drop-off, these experiences give me valuable insight into the work that happens across FSD each day. I look forward to continuing to learn alongside our students and staff.

This week also marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month on September 15. Across our schools, we look forward to celebrating the cultures, traditions and contributions of the Hispanic community and seeing students share their heritage, creativity and pride.

Last week, our Measure N Citizens’ Oversight Committee – which plays an important role in ensuring bond funds are used as promised to voters – visited Raymond Elementary School to see facilities improvements firsthand. This summer, that investment could be seen across FSD through refreshed playgrounds and classrooms, new shade structures, landscaping and other improvements that create welcoming spaces for students to learn and grow.

Each experience deepens my appreciation for the people and partnerships that make FSD such a special community. Thank you for being an important part of it, and I look forward to another great week ahead.
