Dear Fullerton School District Families:

What a wonderful first week of school! It was a joy to see the excitement on students’ faces as they arrived on campus, families capturing special first-day photos, and classrooms once again filled with learning and connection. To our new and returning students and families, thank you for bringing such enthusiasm to the start of the 2026-27 school year.

Throughout the week, I visited campuses and classrooms and saw firsthand the care our teachers, staff and administrators put into creating a welcoming and engaging start for every student.

I also enjoyed attending our junior high Paloozas. Through games, activities and time together, these events help students build relationships, strengthen their sense of belonging and begin the year feeling connected to their school community.

Our Back-to-School Nights also began this past week, with more scheduled throughout August. These evenings are an important opportunity for families to meet teachers, learn more about the year ahead and strengthen the partnership between home and school. Please check with your school for details about your upcoming event.

We are excited for the year ahead and the continued learning, enrichment and opportunities it will bring for every student. Thank you for a wonderful start to the school year!

With gratitude,

Gretchen Janson, Ed.D., Superintendent
Fullerton School District
