Fullerton School District Helps Connect 400 Families with Food and Essential Resources

Hundreds of Fullerton families received food, fresh produce, bottled water and essential household items on July 22 as Fullerton School District partnered with Feed the Children, Niagara Cares and Orange County United Way to host a Community Resource Rally at Pacific Drive Elementary School. 

Led by the District’s Community Schools and Social Emotional Learning teams, the event helped connect 400 families with resources designed to ease financial burdens and support student well-being ahead of the beginning of the 2026-27 school year.

"We know that when families have access to nutritious food and basic necessities, students are better prepared to learn, grow and succeed,” Superintendent Gretchen Janson, Ed.D., said. “We're grateful to partner with organizations that share our commitment to supporting children and families."

Nearly 55% of Fullerton School District students qualify for free or reduced-price meals, making partnerships like this an important extension of the District's efforts to support families beyond the classroom.

The collaborative effort reflects the District's ongoing commitment to supporting students beyond the classroom by connecting families with resources that strengthen health, well-being and academic success.
